私のこれまでの歩み
私は中学1年から不登校・引きこもりになったのですね。それから10年くらい家に引きこもっていたのですが、英語の勉強は15歳の時に始めました。15歳になって周りのみんなは高校に進学するわけですよね。自分は学校にも行かず家に引きこもっている。これはこのままいくと将来大変なことになるかもしれないと、そういう危機感が芽生えたのですね。「何かしないといけない。何をしよう」。そこで英語を始めることにしたと。
英語は完全に独学で学びました。人見知りだったので誰かに教えてもらおうという気持ちにはならなかったのですよね。辞書を使ったり、テレビを見たり、ラジオを聞いたり、ずっと一人で勉強していました。
20代になって、父が土木の仕事をしていたのですが、その仕事を手伝うように父に言われて、それから少しずつ外に出られるようになっていって。30歳を過ぎてようやく英語の仕事が見つかった。少しずつ収入が増えて、気持ちにもゆとりが出て、その矢先その仕事をクビになって。30歳を過ぎてもなかなか思い通りにいかないことが多かったなと。
何かを得れば何かを失う、何かを失えば何かを得る。これは美輪明宏さんがよくおっしゃっていることですが、その仕事をクビになったことで暇ができたのですよね。何かやらないといけないと。Twitterを始めてみようと。そこでいろいろな出会いがあったのですよね。ブログを始めようと思ったのもTwitterで出会った方がきっかけで。
2023年5月からYahoo! JAPANで記事を書かせていただいているのですが、それもTwitter経由でいただいたお話でした。
